Michelle and Thomas Wedding

Michelle and Thomas’ wedding took place at First Presbyterian Church in Barnesville, the most adorable church I had ever seen! It was definitely a chilly day, but the cold did not stop us from having a great time! Not only was Michelle gorgeous, but all of her accessories were as well! I was especially excited about her veil and secretly wished that I had worn one like it!

I’m pretty sure he was making fun of Thomas for ironing his shirt! Haha! Looks like my husband and the guys had a good time!

Since time is not on our side in the winter months, they decided to do a “First Look” and Michelle presented Thomas’ wedding band to him with a special inscription!

The Henson Family

Audrey, the beautiful baby below, stole my heart! My husband and I are waiting a while to have children of our own, but this pretty girl made me want to take her home! Despite the chilly weather she was playful and happy for the shoot! It was so nice to see Jessica, her family, and Todd again! There are certain people in life that you just feel at home with, and these are my people! : ) Just a few of my favorite shots of Audrey!

The Griffith Family

I will never forget my first job at Griffith’s Drive In, a small family owned restaurant in Griffin, Georgia owned and operated by the Griffith Family. In my years there I became very close with Micki, the oldest daughter so it was nice to get together with her and her siblings for a family shoot! She warned me that they might be a tad on the wild side, and she was right!  : ) We had a great time walking and shooting throughout downtown Griffin, and ended it all with a nice lunch at the drive in! Sigh….what a perfect way to unwind!

Andrea and Joe’s Wedding

Posted by Lori | Wedding | Sunday 22 November 2009 9:40 pm

Last weekend I finally got to photograph Andrea and Joe’s wedding! I had been looking forward to this for a while, ever since meeting them at the engagement session! We started off at Patrick’s of Atlanta Salon and Spa, where Andrea got to unwind and be pampered! Let me tell you, she desperately needed it!

I experimented with my 1.8 aperture and I love the results! blog6_0.jpg

Andrea looked so beautiful, and are her flowers not gorgeous?!

This is Joe getting his style on. He was so relaxed…how I envy this trait in men on their wedding day.

For their wedding, Andrea and Joe chose the Reunion Golf Course in Hoschton, GA. Look what a beautiful day it turned out to be! The sky really was that blue!

blog10.jpg

I can honestly say there was hardly a dry eye as Andrea’s grandmother walked her down the aisle to meet Joe!

If you will notice below, their beautiful dog Lily was the maid of honor!

Our friendship began many years ago in a field near her home. I took a million photos of her that day and she probably froze to death! (It was the dead of winter!)  Since that day she has always been the first to volunteer if I need a subject for a shoot. With her great personality and apparent beauty, she is very easy to photograph! Our last shoot went particularly well, and here are some of my favorites!

Daniel - My Husband

Posted by Lori | Portraits | Monday 5 October 2009 6:39 pm

Saturday was such a BEAUTIFUL day that it inspired me to take a walk with my husband to Little 5! I decided I would bring my camera and a lens that I had almost completely forgotten about, my 50mm 1.8! We watched a scary movie on SciFi that morning, and I really think it influenced the overall feel of the first few photos! Finally,  I am taking a new direction with my photography! This is what I have been trying to break into!

I could not help but feel a little frightened as Daniel held the giant stick!

Whoa, wait a minute, are the below photographs by the same photographer? Yes…I was very scatterbrained on this photo adventure! Quick, ditch the serial killer look and go for a more indie pop look!

Michelle and Thomas Engagement

Posted by Lori | Engagement | Monday 14 September 2009 4:19 pm

Sunday I had the pleasure of photographing Michelle and Thomas. We met in the lovely city of Decatur and used the trendy storefronts as our backdrops. Michelle wore the perfect purple dress and Thomas knew just what to say to make her laugh. I love the natural photos that came of their laughter! Everything about the day was enjoyable! (I think they loved the shoot also!) I have to admit I was a tad saddened to leave them. We should have had lunch afterward! blog7.jpg

Andrea and Joe’s Engagement

The weather was definitely on my side yesterday as I shot Andrea and Joe’s engagement photos. A few sprinkles here and there but I could not complain because the clouds really made for perfect lighting! I met with them at their home and became acquinted with their beautiful dog Lily. She was such a ham, but definitely let me know when she was ready to stop posing for my camera! Here is one of my favorite shots, taken in their backyard!

We headed to the Reunion Country Club next, the beautiful venue that they have chosen for their wedding in November. Everything about this place was perfect! We wandered around making use of the benches and buildings, laughing the entire time! Andrea and Joe had such a great sense of humor, and really made the day enjoyable. I felt like we had known each other forever!

We took a few shots at a closeby waterfall, fearing that we were going to be chased away, but the images were worth the anxiety!

Rachel and Craig Wedding

Posted by Lori | Wedding | Monday 20 July 2009 10:10 am

This weekend I had the privilege of photographing Rachel and Craig’s special day!  For months I had been anticipating this day and the chance to try my hand at wedding photography again! Everything about this wedding was beautiful, from the punch to the bride herself! We began at Sweetgrass Too, a unique salon situated in the heart of Candler Park.

blog5.jpg

From there it was on to Cinefest Film Theatre to prepare for the ceremony! Craig had been running around all morning trying to decorate and direct, and finally made it into his suit and took a breather with his guys. In this shot the guys were helping Craig go over his vows.  (I love how the groomsmen in the middle has Craig’s boutonniere in hand and the pin in his mouth!)

blog4.jpg

The ladies were absolutely stunning!  I really thought the purple flowers with the red ribbon really made the bouquets pop!

The newlyweds!

Craig’s mother and other close relatives helped create this beautiful cake! It truely was delicious and I could tell she was proud to serve it to the guests!

And for the grand finale, streamers!

Thank you for allowing me to photograph your wedding! I wish you both love and happiness! Have an amazing honeymoon in Vegas!

Rachel and Craig Engagement

Posted by Lori | Portraits | Wednesday 8 July 2009 10:44 pm

When I heard where Rachel and Craig wanted their engagement photos taken, I was thrilled! Not only are the Majestic Diner and Plaza Theatre close to my apartment, they are also very established and  well known for their nightlife. It is not uncommon for the diner to be packed at 3AM on any given morning. These places really are landmarks, and have warm places in our hearts! I really feel that Rachel and Craig’s photos came out so well because they were able to relate with their surroundings, having shared memories there! As the shoot progressed I was able to capture a few very natural shots, and the first photograph here is definitely one of my favorites!
